Description
The Bachelor of Science program is a postsecondary professional degree designed to equip students for effective ministry churches, missions and denominational service. This program requires a high school diploma or an equivalency certificate. This is a four-year program requiring 120 semester hours of academic credit for graduation.

 

Objectives
The Bachelor of Science program is designed to promote growth toward personal maturity and professional ministry competence. The objectives of the program are accomplished through classroom instruction, the modeling of professors, the practice of ministry through the Practical Missions program, chapel services, and student organizations.

 

The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership program seeks to guide students to develop the ability to understand and interpret the Christian faith in the light of its biblical, theological, and historical dimensions and to promote growth, maturity, and professional leadership abilities in both the local church and corporate environment. 

 

Admission Requirements
Students must submit official transcripts from all educational institutions attended. Official high school transcripts or GED test scores are not required if the applicant as more than 24 college credit hours. Prospective students are required to submit SAT or ACT scores unless they are 24 years old or older or have passed 15 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university. An SAT score of 900 or an ACT score of 18 is required for admission. Conditional admission is granted in certain cases when these scores are not achieved (see the Catalog for full details).

 

Completion Requirements
In order to qualify for graduation from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, each student in the Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership program must satisfy the “General Requirements for Graduation” as set forth in the Catalog. In addition each student in the Bachelor of Science program must complete 120 semester hours of courses specified in the course listing. This includes a minimum of 33 semester hours of general education courses in three different areas: humanities or fine arts, social or behavioral sciences, and the natural sciences or mathematics. Bachelor of Science degrees have both major and minor academic concentrations and students may also choose a double major.
