Master of Divinity in Christian Education

Description
The Master of Divinity in Christian Education is a professional graduate degree beyond the Bachelor of Arts or equivalent, designed to equip students for effective service as a minister of education, minister of youth, minister of children, or administrator in the local church or church related school or missionary in the Christian education field. This is a three-year program primarily related to preparation for the pastoral and missionary ministry, requiring ninety semester hours of academic credit for graduation.

 

Admission Requirements
In addition to the general admission requirements to the Seminary, applicants for admission to any master degree program must meet additional requirements. All applicants to any master degree program must be at least twenty years old by the time of their first registration. All applicants to master degree programs must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor degree or equivalent (see the Catalog for full details and exceptions).

 

Completion Requirements
In order to qualify for graduation from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, each student in the Master of Divinity in Christian Education program must satisfy the “General Requirements for Graduation” as set forth in the Catalog. In addition each student in the Master of Divinity in Christian Education program must complete the ninety semester hours of courses specified in the course listing.

 

The Master of Divinity program includes two components:
     (1) 78 semester hours of required courses
     (2) 12 semester hours of elective courses.
