Associate of Christian Education

The Associate of Christian Education is a postsecondary professional degree intended for persons who hold a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, but who have not completed a baccalaureate degree.  This program requires sixty semester hours of academic credit for graduation.

Objectives
The educational and career goals of the Associate of Christian Education include training students for effective ministry as a minister of education, minister of youth, minister to children, or administrator in the local church; a missionary in the area of Christian Education; or a teacher or administrator in a church-related school in the New York area and across the Northeast.

The Associate of Christian Education is designed to provide quality ministry training for students who will pursue no further studies beyond it and be transferable into an accredited Bachelors program if the student chooses. It will also offer college level ministry training to students with GED or high school diplomas.

Completion Requirements
In order to qualify for graduation, each student in the Associate of Divinity program must satisfy the “General Requirements for Graduation” as set forth in the Catalog.

Each student in the Associate of Christian of Education program is required to complete a minimum of fifteen semester hours of general education courses, with at least one course in each of three areas: the humanities or fine arts, the social or behavioral sciences, and the natural sciences or mathematics. The general education courses may be transferred from another postsecondary institution, or they may be completed within the required course structure of the Associate of Christian Education.
